Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has quashed rumours of a bad blood between himself and his former vice, George Afriyie.

George Afriyie labeled Kwesi Nyantakyi as a greedy man after the former GFA President had allegedly told him he was not going to contest again for the top post only to later rescind that decision to contest the elections in 2018.

A disappointed George Afriyie granted interviews across major media outlets sounding warnings of a humiliating defeat for Mr. Nyantakyi.

This created tension between the two with Mr George Afriyie losing his position at the GFA.

In an exclusive interview with Onua Sports, Mr. Nyantakyi has cleared the air of any rift between himself and his former deputy.

“I have no issues with George Afriyie,” he confessed.

“If someone offends me I don’t keep it in me, and I’ve let go of everything but I will not call him, he’s not my friend that I call for us to sit somewhere or go to bush canteen to eat fufu,” said Mr Nyantakyi.

Kwesi Nyantakyi is now pursuing another ambition to serve as a Member of Parliament for the NPP in the Ejisu Constituency.

He is set to pick forms ahead of a by-election to get John Kumah’s replacement.

Kwesi Nyantakyi was captured in the 2018 Anas exposé, getting him out of the Ghana Football Association.
