The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has assured the overlord of Mamprugu, Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga and the people of Mamprugu that he will do everything within his power to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, wins the 2024 election.
Speaking during a curtesy call on the Nayiri as part of his regional campaign tour in Nalerigu, in the North East Regional capital, NAPO said the people of Ashanti Region have resolved to vote for Dr Bawumia.
“I’m confident in Bawumia’s potential to transform Ghana’s future as president,” he asserted.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh called on the King of Mamprugu, Nayiri Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, at Nayiri’s Palace in Nalerigu, Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency to seek his prayers, blessings, and guidance.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serve the Nayiri’s elder son, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Nayiri, through his spokesperson blessed the running mate. The stool secretary also on behalf of the Nayiri and the people of Mamprugu, also thanked Nana Akufo-Addo for remaining consistent and keeping faith with “our son”, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic.
He urged NAPO and the NPP government to ensure the needed development is brought to the newly created regions.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, highlighted the significance of Bawumia’s candidacy in mobilising support and reinforcing the party’s stronghold of the region.
“The current administration’s social interventions, including the Free SHS policy and National Health Insurance Scheme, would be better safeguarded under an NPP government,” NAPO assured.
He also addressed a mammoth rally to introduce all the parliamentary candidates in the region. He shared that the NPP Presidential ticket is a proud symbol of Ghana’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, transcending religious or ethnic boundaries, a principle they are determined to uphold and guard jealously.
He said the NPP has an alliance with Muslims and the people of the Northern Region and has given the opportunity to them to taste presidency unlike the NDC who only seek their votes hence it is a “haram” for any Muslim to vote for the NDC.
