The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has indicated that he will ensure the completion of the stalled National Cathedral project if elected president.
According to him, state funds have been used in the construction of the edifice so far hence the need to complete it.
The National Cathedral, a pledge made by President Akufo-Addo to God before he became president has been embroiled in controversy. Initially thought to be a personal project of President Akufo-Addo to be funded through private funding, it late emerged that state funds to the tune of over GHC339 million had been used to fund it.
Mr Bawumia said, ” Public funds have been invested in it. One should have an engagement with churches and stakeholders to decide on how to complete the project. It is an important issue.
