Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said that if elected president, he will partner the clergy to secure support from the private sector to complete the national cathedral.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made the commitment during his dialogue with the clergy in Accra on June 4, 2024.
“I believe it is a very important thing for Ghana. I think that as it stands now the church will have to come together and government, sit down and talk about the way forward”
“The church should come together to help us know how we can even get private resources to help us complete the cathedral,” he suggested.
Speaking on behalf of the clergy, Prophet Amoako Atta, Founder of Parliament Chapel called for support for the Vice President and the NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“We have found somebody who is bringing the church into the government. As long as we keep saying that politics is a dirty game, it will take the clergy to bring light and drive away the darkness from politics,” he said.
Later, the Vice President met with the Imams.
