The fire officer who got injured while fighting fire in a three-storey building that houses Rana Motors on the Graphic Road in Accra is receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The Ghana National Fire Service says the officer jumped from the third floor to the ground which resulted in breaking of his hands and legs.

The Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana National Fire Service, Timothy Osafo Affum made the revelations on Onua TV/FM Maakye Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

“While they were fighting the fire, portions of the building collapsed, so he [fire officer, name withheld] jumped from the third floor to the ground. As a result, his legs and hands have been broken but by God’s grace, he is receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Hospital,” Mr. Osafo-Affum explained in Twi.

The storey building was razed down by fire on Tuesday evening, around 10pm.

The cause of the fire outbreak is not immediately known.
