Host of Maakye on Onua TV/FM Blessed Godsbrain Smart has asked the state security agencies to as a matter of prudence, set up a cell at the premises of Media General.

He says the initiative will save the security the hustle of having to come to arrest him everyday at the workplace in 2023.

His reason, he explained was that, the high profile stories the team would be doing in 2023 would warrant more arrests than it occurred in 2022.

“This year, after every story they will come and arrest me because all the stories are serious. I think they should rather build a cell at Media General and hand the keys to Mr. Nuamah (COO of Media General) so that he will lock me inside whenever I finish each episode because it is going to be fireworks,” he said.

Captain Smart’s comments stem from the first story the Maakye team will be doing when they officially resume for 2023, involving the withdrawal of some monies from the account of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association account at GCB Bank.

According to some cheques available to the team, a forged signature has been used to withdraw over GH₵100,000.00 from the Association’s account at the bank.

Captain Smart, speaking on the special edition of the show Monday, January 2, 2023, questioned authorities of the Boundary Road branch of the GCB Bank how they paid almost 20 different cheques without detecting their authenticity were compromised.

One of the cheques with forged signatures paid by the GCB Bank, Boundary Road branch.

Details of the story would be provided when the team resumes officially.
