Kumasi Asante Kotoko have suffered their second loss in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League coming days after losing 1-2 to Legon Cities in midweek.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium by Heart of Lions on Sunday, November 3.
The goal was scored in the 27th minute by Kwadwo Obeng Junior.
It was a Matchday 9 fixture for both sides.
While Asante Kotoko were coming from their maiden loss in an outstanding game against Legon Cities, Lions were coming from their first win since that 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in September.
A mistimed kick by goalkeeper Mohammed Camara located Obeng Jr, whose 20-yard ball went straight into the net.
The win sends the Kpando-based side to seventh, albeit a point below Asante Kotoko who drop to third on the log.
The loss by the Porcupine Warriors piles pressure on coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Kotoko’s next game will be away to Bechem United while Lions will go back home to welcome Berekum Chelsea in their next game.
