Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been shortlisted for the December Player of the Month in the English Premier League.

The shortlist of nominees was released on Thursday, January 4.

Among those contending for the accolade are AFC Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Marcos Senesi, Chelsea FC’s Cole Palmer, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min.

The winner is expected to be announced on Friday, January 12, just a day before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Voting by the public is expected to end on Monday, January 8.

Kudus was instrumental in West Ham United’s four wins and a draw in the month of December.

He scored four times including one against Manchester United in that 2-0 home win over the Red Devils.

He also got a brace in the Irons’ 3-0 drubbing of Wolves at the London Stadium.

West Ham United only lost to Fulham, by 5 goals to nil, in the month of December.

Manager David Moyes has also been nominated for the Manager of the Month. He faces competition from Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery and AFC Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola.
