Bibiani Goldstars captain Samuel Atta Kumi has expressed readiness to play for the senior national men’s soccer team, the Black Stars.

The prolific striker leads the Golden Boot race in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League with 10 goals from 23 games, the first player this season to reach double figures.

Speaking on Onua All Sports on Onua TV on Monday, February 23, Atta Kumi says every local player expects to be called up into the national team to contribute his quota.

Therefore, he is ready if called up for any of the friendly matches for the Black Stars.

“I am ready to play for the Black Stars anytime,” he emphasised.

“Although the league has not ended, you can see each player is trying his best. So, if I am named as part of the squad, I would have to go and justify myself to help my nation.”

He urged other local players not to be worried when they do not get call-ups.

He rather advised them to give the needed support to the lucky ones to perform in order to open doors for the rest.

“We are many in the league and everybody expects to be called up to help the nation. If it is not my time and someone is called up, we have to pray for the person so that he opens the chance for the rest of us. It should be that if your time comes and you are called up, there will be no fear and you go to showcase what you have. You just have to pray for an injury-free career.”
