Two perfectly-taken set pieces by forward Salim Adams gave Medeama SC a vital 2-0 win over challengers Bibiani Goldstars SC at the T n A Stadium, Tarkwa on Sunday.
The first was a penalty awarded by referee Nathan Anafo in the 20th minute and the second from a freekick after an infringement against Manuel Mantey just outside the penalty area. That was in added time of the first half.
The winning points take the Ghana Premier League leaders further atop the standings.
They are now on 56 points, five more than the defending champions and Sunday’s opponents.
With the win in the top-of-the-table clash, the Mauve and Yellows inch closer to the title.
Their next game on Wednesday, May 6 will be away to Berekum Chelsea, who sat out the Matchday 31 games due to the withdrawal of Hohoe United.
