“Ken Ofori-Atta is even still at post, leave Dede Ayew alone,” broadcaster Blessed Godsbrain Smart has said.

The journalist says football is a game and any outcome is possible, seeing no reason why Ghanaians should roast the Black Stars’ captain for failing to connect the spot kick against Uruguay.

He says even though he failed to score the penalty, he cannot solely be blamed for the failure of the team as top class players in the world also miss penalties.

“Please leave Dede Ayew alone. Is he the only person to miss a penalty? What should he do? Even top class players miss penalties. A day after Dede missed the penalty, Messi also missed some. Where should he go? Ken Ofori-Atta is even still at post,” he indicated.

The Black Stars were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after failing to secure a win against Uruguay in their last group game encounter.

The stars, who headed into the game with three points after losing their first match to Portugal and defeating South Korea needed a draw to qualify if the Portuguese had won South Korea.

However, because the South Koreans defeated Portugal, Ghana needed a win to sail through to the round of 16 but were defeated by 2 goals to nil, after Captain Andre Ayew failed to connect a spot kick awarded the Black Stars in the early minutes of the game.
