Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on all party members to halt the blame game but rather stay united to win the 2028 elections.
According to him, the fact that they did not get the mandate of the people in this year’s election does not mean all hope is lost.
Interacting with some party members who visited him from the Korle Klottey constituency, Dr. Bawumia said they should brace themselves up to emerge winners in the next elections.
“When you look at the results president Mahama and the NDC won the elections but as I said, it means that we have lost the battle but not the war.
“So, we want to encourage all of you, as you know, we have lost the elections to the NDC, they did not win the elections, their numbers did not change like 2020, but ours dropped by 40 per cent.
“The analysis is simple. So, what I want all of us to know is that, united we stand, divided will fall. So, this time as for me, we have abiding belief in God so I know that in the will of God, his ways are not our ways,” he consoled them.
The Vice President indicated further that “sometimes God does something that you will not understand may be the will of God is what is important for you so don’t start blaming people.”
He said the blame game will not only hinder their ability to become victorious in the next elections, expressing the need to put the defeat behind and stay focused.
“Blame game will destroy us let’s build together let’s be united we are going to win 2028 elections,” he pointed out.
On his part, the Korle Klottey NPP parliamentary candidate Nii Noi Valentino Nortey expressed their commitment to the Bawumia cause and their readiness to support the Vice President champion his cause.
“We are here to encourage our father for him to know that we shall not stop following him what ever he would wants to do any time, as for us we believe in his policies and hard work so he shouldn’t be discouraged,” he disclosed.
I commend Bawumia for his statesmanship in conceding defeat – Mahama
