This morning’s –Thursday, March 23, 2023 –edition of Onua TV/FM’s morning show, Maakye is being carried live from the Ashaiman main traffic light near the police station.

As part of Onua TV/FM’s outdoor programmes, the team has taken the number one morning show to the doorsteps of Ashaiman residents two weeks after the military subjected some indigenes into brutalities.

The unfortunate incident came as a reprisal to the murder of a 22-year-old military officer,  Imoro Sherrif at Taifa, a suburb of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region.

He was stabbed multiple times on his hands and bled to death according to police report, where his iPhone was taken with other items.

The military through their swoop arrested 184 persons some of whom were detained in their custody.

Meanwhile, the police after a week sustained intelligence-led operation apprehended some six suspects which included the two that murdered the officer and four others who were involved in the purchase of the deceased officer’s iPhone.

The six were taken to court on Monday, March 13. In court, lawyer for the four who are alleged to have bought the phone prayed the court to grant his clients bail as they cannot be linked with the robbery nor the alleged killing.

But the prosecution opposed the bail application claiming that the accused persons have no permanent place of abode.

The judge after considering the case remanded the four accused persons together with the other two into prison custody to reappear on March 27, 2023.

The Maakye team will be engaging the residents, passersby, traders among commuters to share with the public the pertinent issues confronting them, and how things have fared following the tragedy that befell them few weeks ago.

The assembly will also be sharing with the public how things have advanced so far especially regarding security, and how victims of the brutalities have fared.

These include the Member of Parliament, Municipal Chief Executive, Assembly and Unit Committee members.
