Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, first wife of late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba has filed a writ at the High Court praying the court to declare her as the only surviving spouse of the late musician.
Serwaa has also sought an injunction from the court against funeral date and burial arrangements announced by the family of the singer which she says was done without her consent.
The suit cites second wife of Daddy Lumba, Priscilla Ofori, a.k.a Odo Broni and Abusua-Panin Kofi Owusu as defendants in the matter who have been accused of “corroborating to engage in fraudulent acts.”
Akosua Serwah also wants the court to issue an order declaring that, it is only the Plaintiff who has the right to perform the widowhood rites of the late.
Serwaa Fosuh is praying the High Court to restrain the second wife and two others, from collecting the body of the late musician from the morgue for burial and final funeral rites.
In her writ of summons sighted by 3News, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh’s lawyers outlines her reliefs as follows;
- An Order of this Honourable Court declaring that the Plaintiff is the only surviving spouse of the late CHARLES KWADWO FOSU a.k.a. DADDY LUMB.
- An Order of this Court declaring that, it is only the Plaintiff who has the right to perform the widowhood rites of the late CHARLES KWADWO FOSU a. kea. DADDY LUMBA.

The DL radio on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 announced that December 6, 2025 has been set as date for the funeral of the late Daddy Lumba in Kumasi.
But Serwaa Fosuh contends that she and her children were not involved in arranging the burial date. They have since sought an injunction against the funeral date and burial arrangement.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the direct family described the funeral announcement of the musician as “deeply distressing”, saying they first heard of it on social media.
According to them, “Abusuapanyin Kofi Wusu and a funeral committee are acting in their own interests, without regard for the wishes and rights of the deceased’s direct family.”
Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital after a brief illness. He was 60 years old.
