Akwasi Addai Odike, founder and leader of the Union Government, believes John Dramani Mahama and the NDC’s 24-hour Economy is nothing but a campaign slogan.

He says the National Democratic Congress led by John Dramani Mahama did not do a thorough analysis of the policy and its implications before coming out with it.

Mr. Odike, who is a businessman and politician dismissed the idea of implementing a 24-hour economy, saying that it cannot be achieved without a thorough understanding of the requirements consequence.

According to him, no government can impose a 24- hour economy on Ghanaians.

He called on the NDC leader to stop promising a 24-hour economy to Ghanaians, expressing his skepticism about the policy.

“I hear former President John Mahama has a new idea and he wants to run a 24-hour economy. I say where did he get this from? This is not a good idea!. 24-hour economy cannot be legislated by the government. It is a political campaign slogan. Ghanaians should ignore it,” he stated.

He, nonetheless, indicated that a 24-hour economy is already a reality for many businesses in the country based on market demand and opportunities.
