A man believed to be in his early thirties has been found dead at the Mankessim cemetery in the Mfantseman municipality of the Central region.

Report gathered by Onua news revealed that the deceased is not known in the area but suspected to have been beaten to death and deposited at the cemetery.

The bruises on his body upon checks indicate he might have been physically assaulted. His hands were also tied with a rope per the marks on his wrists.

Some residents who spoke to Onua News said they believe the body might have been deposited three days ago since it had started rotting at the time it was discovered.

According to them, his appearance didn’t look like that of a mentally derailed person nor someone knocked down by a vehicle.

They suspect he might have faced mob justice after pilfering and dumped at the cemetery at dawn.

Some residents expressed fear over the development citing the reemergence of killings in the township.

Police have, meanwhile, commenced investigations into the issue, according to Onua News’s Nana Yaw Asare.
