The CAF Champions League game between Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Ghanaian champions Medeama SC has been moved to the Al Salam Stadium, also in Cairo.

This is because the Cairo International Stadium, which hosts matches of the record champions, has been closed down for renovation works.

The Red Devils begin a defence of their 11th title on Saturday, November 25 against Ghana’s Medeama SC in Group D.

Algeria’s CR Belouizdad and Tanzania’s Yanga are the other clubs in the group.

The Al Salam Stadium, which will host Ahly’s matches at least for the group stage, was built in 2009 for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, won by Ghana’s Black Satellites.

It was acquired by Ahly from Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production in 2019 for a 25-year period.
