Newly-appointed Technical Director of Division One side FC AshantiGold 04 Abdul-Karim Zito has described his new role as God-ordained.
He disclosed that he was part of the initial recruitment drive by the club and can only point to destiny regarding his appointment as part of the technical team.
“When they even started their ‘Justify Your Inclusion’, I was here to supervise,” he said in an interview with the club on Thursday, February 26.
“At the end of the day, destiny brought me here. We don’t control destiny, it is God that controls it. So me coming here wasn’t a fluke. It was ordained by the Almighty Allah.”
Karim Zito took up this new role after resigning as Head Coach of Asante Kotoko.
He had won a number of trophies including the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup for the Porcupine Warriors but had to resign a few days to the Super Clash against archrivals Hearts of Oak, whom he had led the Reds to beat in the first leg.
He said he was motivated by the talent in the club and the region, at large, to take the decision to join the Zone II leaders.
‘Obuasi is a football town you will like because the people understand football.”
Karim Zito assessed his team for the first time on Thursday as he leads them to the weekend’s game in the Division One League.
He has promised to work hard to make the dreams of FC Ashantigold to qualify to the Ghana Premier League come true.
