Former Ghana Football Association President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, has shared the most painful moment for him after the Anas exposé titled ‘Number 12: When Greed and Corruption Become the Norm’ in 2018.

He said that moment was when his daughter, now 14 years, walked up to him at home and said her friends in school are saying he is a thief.

The former Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) said he was hit by that because his daughter was very young, then.

“As a parent, you should understand how that feels,” he said, but indicated how he advised his daughter to ignore those insinuations.

Speaking on Starr FM on Thursday, January 11 about his ordeal after that landmark investigative work by award-winning Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Mr Nyantakyi said he regrets honouring that invitation to the UAE to meet the supposed Sheikh.

He said he travelled at his own expense because he was carried away by the sponsorship offer from the supposed Sheikh.

He also expressed regret for mentioning the names of the President and the Vice President and revealed that he has made efforts, to no avail, to meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to explain things to him.

The former West African Football Union (WAFU) President says the truth will definitely come out one day.

Mr Nyantakyi, who became GFA President in 2005, also revealed that his greatest achievement was when Ghana qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2006.
