The military’s attempt to arrest the new Bawku Naaba enskinned by the Nayiri has been fiercely resisted by the youth creating tension in some parts of the North East region.

The youth have hit the streets to register their displeasure to that effect.

Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) billboards were also destroyed by the youth.

The youth have blamed the government and military for instigating the recent unrest at Bawku and Nalerigu due to the government’s undue interference in the chieftaincy matter which according to them should be left for the Nayiri.

They have warned they will use every available means to protest any attempt to arrest the Nayiri and the rival Bawku chief.
