The most talked about lawmaker in the 8th Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has lost her fourth bid to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Dome Kwabenya in the 2024 elections.

After the Saturday, January 27, 2024 parliamentary primaries of the party, Madam Adwoa Safo managed some 328 votes against Mike Oquaye Junior’s 1,194, with Sheila Adoma Sakyi Oppong garnering 186 votes.

The landslide victory comes after many pollsters and political analysts predicted the three term Member of Parliament to lose her seat following her long absence in Parliament.

Mike Oquaye Jnr. is contesting the candidature for the third time, after losing the contest closely to Adwoa Safo in the 2020 primaries with 08 votes.

Meanwhile, Eastern Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Seth Kwame Acheampong, will not be returning to Parliament in 2025 after losing his bid to represent his party in the 2024 December elections.

The minister, after the polls, obtained 183 votes with Nana Osei-Adjei getting 253 of the valid votes cast.

The three other contenders, Joseph Osei Djaba, Philip Twum Yeboah and Samson Kwesi Annor obtained 47, 03 and 02 of the votes respectively.
