The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, with all the vehemence he could garner, has assured Ghanaians the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not hand over power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He says the NPP will apply all the necessary measures available to them to ensure power will not flip their hands come 2024.

According to him, the “we have the men” mantra the NPP have been touting themselves with is manifested in how they use brutal force and threats to win elections, a lesson they will teach the NDC should they ever think of adopting any such strategy to wrestle power from them in 2024.

The Member of Parliament for Abetifi was confident that the NDC is on the verge of collapse, and they, the NPP, will show them that “we have the men.”

During his address to NPP compatriots at a unity walk at Mpraeso Saturday, April 8, 2023, Mr. Acheampong said it will never happen that the NPP will be on a platform to hand over power to the NDC.

He further added that, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Covid-19 pandemic came with some challenges which plummeted the economy, a situation the NDC wanted to capitalise to discredit the government.

However, measures, he indicated, are in place to revert the situation which is already yielding results.

He said now the dollar which was at ¢17 has dropped to ¢10. Petrol which was ¢17 is sold at ¢9. The economy has revived adding “it is possible.”

The MP was so confident the economy will be fully revived by July after the nation’s bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) falls through.

Bryan Acheampong says with all the right indications going into the 2024 elections, the NPP is going to win the polls hands down.

“If the NDC thinks of using threats, stupidity, brute force to do the 2024 [elections], we’ll show them that we have the men.

“That this NPP party which is in power, to be on a platform to hand over power to the NDC, it will never happen, it will never happen, it will never happen!

“We’ll adopt any means to ensure the NPP retains power in the 2024 elections,” he said in Twi in a charged mood to an equally charged party supporters.
