Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman FC have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup following a 1-0 loss to CS Constantine on Saturday.
A first-half strike by the Algerians at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui was enough to give them a 3-0 aggregate win over the Ghanaians.
They had travelled to Accra to inflict a painful 2-0 defeat on the Ghanaians in the first leg.
Therefore, the second leg in Constantine was expected to be a mere formality.
But the Ghanaians managed to keep the scoreline respectable as they exit at the penultimate stage of qualifiers in their maiden campaign in Africa.
Nsoatreman FC qualified to play in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers after winning the 2024 MTN FA Cup.
They beat Bofoakwa Tano FC to win the ticket to represent Ghana for the Africa’s second-tier club competition.
They scaled through the first round of qualifiers without conceding a goal, beating Elect-Sport of Chad 5-0 on aggregate.
With Nsoatreman FC’s exit, FC Samartex become the only Ghanaian side still in contention in Africa.
They, however, have a tall order in Morocco after being held to a 2-2 draw at home by Raja Casablanca in the first leg.
