Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman, the chief of Antoa in the Ashanti Kingdom has been destooled by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Otumfuo according to reports ruled against the chief following a number of offences including multiple sale of lands.

This was during the Asantehene’s first sitting as President of the Kumasi Traditional Council on Monday, May 29, 2023 following his return from King Charles III’s coronation in the United Kingdom (UK).

Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman according to reports has been chief of Antoa since the year 2000, having ruled for 23 years.

He is reported to have twisted the laid down customary procedures to instate his nephew to take over from him while he is alive.

Nana Owusu reportedly ignored his kinsmen and elders when they advised him to seek permission from Otumfuo over the decision.

After hearing his case on Monday evening, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ruled against him and ordered his destoolment.

The destoolment rites have since started according to the Graphic.
