Ghana failed to qualify for the next stage of the 2022 World Cup as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to familiar foe Uruguay.
Andre Ayew, who is usually dependable, was presented with a golden opportunity to give Ghana the lead, but his poor penalty kick was saved.
The miss dampened the Black Stars’ spirits and served as motivation for Uruguay, who scored two goals in six minutes thanks to Giorgian de Arrascaeta’s brace.
The defeat means Ghana are out of the World Cup, failing to reach the knockout stage.
