The Gomoa Nyanyano District Police Command have arrested five suspected land guards for allegedly terrorising developers to pay them digging fees before commencing construction on their properties.

The Gomoa East District recently barred land guard activities in the district making it illegal for anyone to collect digging fee and subject developers to any form of harassment.

The Gomoa East District Chief Executive, Solomon Darko Quarm tells Onua News the police have confirmed the arrest to him and intend processing them for court to face trial.

“The Gomoa East DISEC and the chiefs together abolished land guard activities in the district and we’ve been working towards it with the police.

“This afternoon between 1 to 2pm, I was informed the Nyanyanor Commander, Harrison and his men have arrested about five land guards who are currently in their custody and he confirmed when I called.
