In not more than 10 minutes, voting will officially end in the Akwatia by-election.
The election begun on Tuesday morning at 119 polling stations with over 5000 voters expected to cast their ballot.
The by-election was necessitated by the death of the area’s lawmaker, Ernest Yaw Kumi.
Voter turnout is reported to be low at some polling centers with a only a few pockets of violence recorded.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) had earlier toured some polling centers to ensure safety and peace while assuring that voting will end peacefully.
The IGP assured that police reinforcement will increase when counting of voting begins.
