Founder and President of the IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe, has said John Dramani Mahama is the best President Ghana has had since 2008.

Lauding his encounter with the media on Wednesday, Mr. Cudjoe described the event as “humane, truthful, wise, knowledgeable, practical, and verifiably accountable.”

According to him, the engagement is the best any President has delivered since the John Agyekum Kufuor administration, indicating the President has no comparison.

The event offered journalists a direct opportunity to question the President on key policy interventions, ongoing national projects, and how far his ‘Resetting Agenda’ is faring.

A statement issued by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, had explained that the engagement would provide “a unique platform for President Mahama to engage the Ghanaian people, through the media, on pressing national issues, his Resetting Ghana Agenda, policies and ongoing projects.”

He had also noted that the Presidency looked forward to a “productive and engaging session with the media.”

The programme marked the first of such encounter of President Mahama’s second term and came at a time of heightened public interest in government reforms, economic stability measures, and the administration’s commitment to transparency.

Journalists from across various parts of the country participated, with some contributing virtually from their respective regions.

Questions from the journos ranged from national security to illegal mining, governance, education, infrastructure, the fight against corruption, and creative arts, among other sectors. The President, in turn, took time to respond to all the questions.

Commenting on the encounter, Mr. Cudjoe described it as a success, saying the President has got no peers since 2008. “I watched the recorded version of the President’s media encounter. Humane, truthful, wise, knowledgeable, practical, and verifiably accountable. President John Mahama has no peers since 2008,” he posted on his X Thursday, September 11, 2025.
