John Paintsil, a former defender for the Black Stars has lashed out on the Ghana Football Association amidst the mourning of late Christian Atsu.

The Ghana FA issued a release in connection with Atsu’s demise expressing their condolences and commiserating with the family.

But the former Ghanaian lateral back thinks the act from the FA is hypocritical considering how they sidelined him from the team.

According to John Paintsil, the FA’s snub of the player contributed to his struggle to find a permanent team before his passing away.

“You snubbed him and kicked him out of your Black Stars at age 31. Atsu has been struggling to get a permanent stay in a club since the snub.

“We all know the value and respect your club gives you when you play for your nation.

“Don’t pretend you loved him because you don’t at all,” John Paintsil has said on Accra-based Original FM.
