The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has conducted a swoop on traders at Suhum and Nsawam in the Eastern region to ensure residents patronise healthy food between now and the yuletide.

The Eastern region branch of the Authority embarked on the operation specifically on traders selling turkey tail, popularly known as ‘Tsofi’.

According to the Authority, it is illegal to sell Tsofi in Ghana since it has been banned since 1999.

Commuters who ply the Suhum – Nsawam boulevard of the Accra – Kumasi highway have been patronising the product.

The Monday, October 30, 2023, operation was conducted by the Authority in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service.
