Ivan Innocent Kyei says corruption and thievery is on the ascendency because those people are looking up to have a lifestyle worthy of emulation “are people who are perfecting the art of stealing with finesse.”

With the a GH₵17.4 billion stated in the Auditor General’s Report as amount that has gone down the drain, the youth activist and social commentator says people would always be incentivised to steal since there are no punitive measures for them.

He says those at the department and agencies stealing state resources take their inspiration from those at the top whose lifestyles are supposed to be modeled.

Citing instances in South Korea and other places where high ranking political figures and global business tycoons were punished for engaging in crimes, Mr. Kyei indicated a country like Ghana look unconcerned when such outfits flout the law.
