The Black Starlets have been drawn in Group D for the upcoming Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco.

The draw for the tournament, scheduled from Wednesday, May 13 to Tuesday, June 2, was held on Wednesday, April 8.

As per the outcome, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side will face Senegal, Algeria and South Africa at the group phase.

Group A has hosts Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Ethiopia to battle for a place in the quarter-finals.

La Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda and DR Congo were drawn in Group B while Group C has Mali, Angola, Tanzania and Mozambique.

The top two teams as well as two best third-placed teams will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Qatar.

The Starlets, who have won the tournament twice, will begin their campaign against Algeria, before taking on South Africa and Senegal later on.
