President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be in attendance at Stadium 974 today when the Black Stars of Ghana play Portugal in their first game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The President was aboard a Qatar Airways flight on Wednesday evening to Doha and is expected to watch some of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches before returning to Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo and his accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, H E Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro and the Ambassador of Ghana to Qatar Mohamed H E Noureddine Ismail.
His arrival is expected to serve as a boost to Coach Otto Addo’s team who head into the tie as underdogs.
The Group H clash is expected to start at 4 pm (Ghana time). Uruguay and South Korea will face off in the other group clash at 1 pm.
