Following the innumerable challenges confronting indigenes of Obuasi in the Ashanti region, host of Maakye on Onua TV/FM, Blessed Godsbrain Smart known as Captain Smart has taken to his knees and pleaded with the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom to come to their aid
According to Captain Smart, since all administrations, especially in the Fourth Republic –from Jerry Rawlings to Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo — have failed to better the lives of the residents on whose land gold is mined, it is left with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to help redeem his subjects from the abject poverty they are being confronted with.
The gesture follows the presentation of the Peoples’ Assembly, an offshoot of Onua TV/FM’s morning show, Maakye, in the Obuasi municipality of the Ashanti region.
