With the recent spate of development in constituencies having by-elections, an Obuasi resident’s prayer is for her constituency to get a by-election to get their share of the national cake.
During the delayed Peoples’ Assembly at Obuasi Thursday, June 8, 2023, as a result of an NPP-induced destruction of the show, a woman who expressed her worries said it is her prayer that a Member of Parliament passes away at Obuasi.

According to her, it is only when an MP dies that the President and his Vice, Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia will visit Obuasi for them to get their share of the national cake.
Her comment stems from the developments that have gone on in the Kumawu constituency and currently ongoing in Assin North following the by-election that has been held and yet to take place respectively.
