Day two of Onua Maakye’s Peoples’ Assembly at the Obuasi East district of the Ashanti region is in limbo as some youth claiming to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party have attacked the team.

Before the commencement of the show Thursday morning, June 8, 2023, two young men, one well built (macho) and another in a yellow reflector vest disrupted the process and scattered the equipment of the team.

Producer of the show, Godwin Kweku Tetteh, speaking with Abena Nyamesem back at Onua TV studios in Accra said a well built man who ransacked the equipment of the team said he has been sent by an authority that be to stop the team from operating.

He added the young man said followers of the NPP were hooted at whenever they spoke during the Day 1 of the Peoples’ Assembly held at Obuasi Wednesday, June 7, the reason for which he was asked to stop the show.

Mr. Tetteh continued that, the team secured another venue at the ‘Black Park’, a field closer to the Lenclay Stadium to hold the programme but were equally told a power that be says the show cannot be held there.

The team are currently at the Obuasi Central Police Command resolving the issue.

The said authority who is stopping the team from embarking on the show has, however, not been identified yet.

Meanwhile, the macho man who attacked the team is alleged to be a bodyguard of Elijah Adansi-Bonah, the Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi.
