Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu has assured investors and Ghanaians that the Region is ready to reposition itself to benefit from government’s 24-Hour economy policy.

Speaking at the Volta Economic Forum on Friday, October 31, 2025, James Gunu said the 24-Hour economy policy challenges the Region to expand productivity, ensure energy reliability, support local manufacturing, and generate sustainable jobs, particularly for our youth and women.

The Volta Economic Forum is organised under the theme: “Harnessing the Volta Economic Corridor Potentials for the 24-Hour Economy policy take-off” which the Minister says marks the dawn of a new chapter in the Region’s economic transformation.

“Under the forward-looking leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and with the vision articulated through the 24-Hour Economy Policy, the Volta Region is repositioning itself as a central growth corridor for Ghana’s next economic take-off,” the Minister noted.

The Regional Minister underscored the importance of the economic forum.

“This forum provides an important platform for strategic collaboration among government, investors, traditional authorities, and development partners.

“It seeks to convert our regional advantages into bankable opportunities and to promote Volta as a region that is open, stable, and ready for business,” he said.

According to him, the various districts in the Region have profiled over fifty investment-ready projects across sectors including agro-processing, aquaculture, eco-tourism, logistics, ICT, and renewable energy.

He added that the Regional Coordinating Council together with the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) and the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat will ensure that every project presented is verifiable, locally supported, commercially viable and sustainable for the policy.

The Minister concluded with a call on investors and partners to see the Volta Region not just as a location, but as a long-term growth destination.

“Let us form partnerships that are mutually beneficial and socially responsible. Let us sign memorandum, establish pilot projects and set in motion the first wave of investments that will define the 24-Hour Economy in action,” he remarked.

“Together, we will ensure that commitments made here translate into jobs, infrastructure, and prosperity for our people.

“Distinguished guests, the Volta Region is poised to lead. Our people are ready. Our resources are abundant. Our leadership is united in purpose. Let us, therefore, seize this moment to make the Volta Economic Corridor the new frontier of Ghana’s inclusive industrialization and sustainable development,” the Minister explained.
