The Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General Ghana Ltd., Beatrice Agyemang, has attributed the organisation’s avalanche of laurels to its insistence on the ethics of the industry that have guided their output over the years.

She says Media General’s recent accolades are pivoted on the industry’s conventions on which it has charted a path in its quest to serving the society.

Her comments come on the back of two awards swept by the organisation at the 34th edition of the CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards held Saturday, September 30, 2023.

The Ghana CEO of the Year 2021, extolled her staff for keeping up with the tenets of the corporation to attain all the enviable feats the industry has to offer, both domestically and globally.

“At Media General, we do not compromise on the ethics of the profession. Those are our guiding principles. No wonder we keep winning. Journalist of the Year, 2021 by Portia Gabor and recently, BBC Komla Dumor Award by Paa Kwesi Asare. We are grateful to all our stakeholders, especially the advertisers for their continuous custom.

“A special appreciation goes to the hard-working staff of Media General whose sterling performance has earned us this recognition,” she indicated.

Media General Limited, owners of TV3, Onua TV and others went home with ‘Media Organisation of the Year’ and ‘Marketing-Oriented Media Organisation of the Year’ awards on the night.

A citation that accompanied the Media Organisation of the Year award said, “This award is in recognition of your ability to convey the message, create desire and appeal to your audience and the positive impact you make on society at large. These, coupled with the ethical execution of the informative and educative contents, make you exceptional, compared with other media houses for 2022.”

For winning the Marketing Oriented Media Organisation of the year, the awards committee cited three programmes across the Organisation’s channels, namely; Perfect Match Extra, Onua Showtime with McBrown and Onua Concert party for leading the insights in the industry.

“You set yourself a mission to lead in the creation and delivery of high-quality media content that informs, educates, and entertains viewers and listeners, and you executed this with finesse and aplomb. You were evaluated on these attributes, and you scored highly.

“Your dominance in the media space per your compelling and thought-provoking programmes are the more reason why you were highly tipped for the group ahead of your peers,” portions of the citation for the award indicated.

According to the organisers, Media General has become synonymous to everything “entertainment, news, and anything media there is to enjoy” adding that the brands’ compelling content have taken their “patrons to a whole new level.”

The CIMG Council commended Media General Group for the feat, saying that, “The CIMG seizes this opportunity to congratulate you on your ability to ensure business continuity in the face of the challenges brought about by global economic issues in the year under review.”

The General Manager Commercial, Media General, Daniel Amartey Amarh, received the awards on behalf of the organisation with support from some staff members.
