Captain Smart has revealed he once saved President Akufo-Addo’s life.
He says the president asked him what he wants him to reward him with but refused any reward for what he did.
Speaking Thursday, October 20, 2022, Captain Smart said he doesn’t understand why President Akufo-Addo cannot arrest Wontumi for indulging in galamsey but is bent on intimidating him for his crusade against the menace.
“Ask Nana Addo who saved his life in 2006. After that he asked, ‘what do you want?’ and I said I don’t want anything,” he alleged.

Captain Smart was arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau Wednesday evening in an action-movie-police-armed robbery scene few metres behind the Jubilee House when he was on his way home from work.
His arrest was in connection with comments he made tagging the President as being actively involved in galamsey.
He was released some minutes to midnight after lawyer for Media General, the Group CEO, COO and Head of HR visited the NIB Interrogation Centre where he was sent to.
