The newly elected General Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua has attributed his victory to the massive support from the Ashanti region grassroots and party faithful.
Speaking on Akoma FM’s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Monday, July 18, 2022, Mr. Frimpong Kodua who won the NPP General Secretary position explained that his victory underscores the mighty Ashanti Kingdom slogan: ‘Wokum Apem a, Apem Beba’ to wit Ashanti’s are warriors and thousands resurface even if thousands fall, hence, the slogan and attitude of Ashantis was the spirit that brought the difference and did the magic”
Justin Frimpong Kodua won with 2837 votes with incumbent John Boadu polling 2524 out of the five contestants who vyed for the General Secretary position.
Mr. Kodua whom until the day of elections wasn’t tipped to win managed to overturn the elections and won with over 300 vote difference.
When asked by host of the show, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on how he managed to sail through and whisked the victory from John Boadu, he explained that “this is a typical Ashanti fighting spirit of Ashanti and we duly exhibited that trait. But the greater acknowledgement goes to God the Almighty who created the universe. He was the reason for this victory but our major bedrock was the unflinching Ashanti fighting spirit.”
Justin Frimpong Kodua popularly known as JFK further admonished all hands to be on deck to foster a united front to break the eight in 2024.
