The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused officials of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of embezzling public funds.
The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, during a one-on-one on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa Tuesday, November 12, 2024, indicated that his outfit has investigated 58 appointees in the Akufo-Addo government who will be prosecuted if the NDC takes over the government in 2025.
Speaking with host Nana Yaa Brefo Danso, he said the amount of the sum allegedly stolen by the 58 officials will send shocks down her spine if he was to mention it.
He, however, cautioned that the NPP can choose to terminate every evidence that will implicate them after leaving office, his outfit is already in possession of documents that will make them face the full rigours of the law.
Gbande disclosed that some of the monies have been kept in the homes of the appointees, indicating that the sum found in Cecilia Dapaah’s home cannot be compared with the amount he is talking about.
