FC Nordsjæland midfielder Caleb Marfo Yirenkyi has been handed a start in his first competitive game for the Black Stars.
The Rights to Dream product has been named in Otto Addo’s starting line-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Caleb Yirenkyi made his debut for the senior national men’s soccer team in the 2-1 friendly loss to the Super Eagles in the 2025 Unity Cup in the United Kingdom.
He was later selected to start the game against Trinidad and Tobago.
His performance seems to have paid off as he starts against Les Sao.
Also in the starting line-up for the game at the Stade Olympique Marechal Idriss Deby Itno is Abdul Salis Samed, who is making a return to the side.
FC Basel’s Jonas Adjei Adjetey will pair in central defence with Jerome Opoku.
The team will be captained by Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew, who will be attacking in front together with AFC Bournemouth’s in-form striker Antoine Semenyo and Spain-based Iñaki Williams, who is also making a return to the team.
In post is Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
