Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Goldstars SC have been humiliated in the maiden campaign in the CAF Champions League.
The Miners suffered a shutout as they failed to score a single goal.
They lost 5-0 in the second leg of the preliminary round of the top-tier club competition in Africa, falling 7-0 on aggregate.
Lahlou Akhrib started the onslaught at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou as he struck in the seventh minute. The ball appeared to have come off goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi.
But Ryad Boudebouz converted from the spot to take his side 2-0 into the break.
Merdi Merghem, who scored in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, put his name on the scoring sheet as he got the third goal.
Akhrib got one from an individual brilliance to make it four past the Ghanaian champions.
Walid Malki completed the demolition as he hit the fifth goal just in injury time to wrap up a five-star performance from Algerians.
They will face Tunisia’s US Monastir in the second preliminary round as they fight to reach the group stage in a competition they have won twice in the past.
