The Berekum Senior High Basic School is in dire need of infrastructure facelift.
The school was established in September 2003 but was taken over by the government in 2004.
Parents and guardians whose children attend the school are crying over the bad nature of the structure which they say is prone to disaster.

The KG block has been neglected by authorities over the past 10 years. It has now become a death trap, which if care is not taken may one day cause a disaster in the school.
Speaking in an interview with 3news, the Chairman of the Parents Association, Elder Samuel Sarfo, explained that their children are in need of a new school block because they don’t even have a place of convenience.

He made an appeal to the authorities as a matter of urgency to come and build a new classroom block for the children to promote an effective learning environment.
Some of the parents also expressed their dissatisfaction about the condition of the school structure.

Madam Anima Ellen claimed the population of the school is gradually declining all because of the nature of the classroom structure.
Mame Ameyaa, also as a parent, stressed that because of the bad classroom whenever it’s about to rain the pupils are forced to close from school which doesn’t help in their learning.
