Interim Head Coach of Bibiani Goldstars SC Nana Yaw Amankwah has apologised to fans of the club for the poor performance in their maiden continental campaign.

The Miners, after annexing the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, represented the country in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.

However, they failed to impress as they were beaten home and away by JS Kabylie of Algeria in the preliminary round.

They lost by 0-2 at home and by 5-0 in Tizi Ouzou.

Speaking for the first time after the disappointment, Nana Yaw Amankwah, who replaced Stephen Frimpong Manso

after the first leg, begged fans for forgiveness and rallied their support.

“We are very sorry,” he minced no words.

“[The fans] were expecting us to at least move further but we failed to meet expectations. We ask for forgiveness and ask them to continue to support us.

“We have learned a few things from the experience and we hope it will help us in the League.”

The Miners return home to face Swedru All Blacks in the League.

It is their second game after their 2-1 opening-day win over Bechem United.

“We arrived on Tuesday and went straight to training the next day Wednesday,” he told the club’s media.

“We’ve prepared since pre-season till now.It is not easy to recover from such failure but we will do our best.”

For him, All Blacks have been invincible so far at home “but note that we are also the Premier League champions”.

That match will be live on Onua TV.
