The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has assured stakeholders in the airline and aviation industry of continued air traffic services despite threats by the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) to go on strike.
GhATSEA has threatened to lay down its tools on Thursday, October 30, 2025, reasons of which remain unknown to the public.
In a statement issued by the GCAA on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Authority said it has put measures in place to “secure provision of air traffic services across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).”
“In anticipation of this threat, management has developed and implemented a CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan to maintain operational continuity and avoid disruptions to both domestic and international flight operations.”
The statement added that the “contingency plan outlines detailed operational procedures, designated response teams, and robust coordination mechanisms designed to uphold aviation safety and service integrity during the period of the industrial action.”
It therefore urged the general public and all stakeholders to keep their cool despite the impending strike which commences tomorrow.
The statement further expressed the GCAA’s commitment to “maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery and ensuring the safety and security of all flights within Ghana’s airspace.”
“The Authority will continue to value human capacity development and promote staff welfare,” it added.
