Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, considers inclusive governance as key to achieving wholistic development.
Speaking while touring some ministries in Accra, she charged government agencies to develop policies that target all aspects of the country’s population.
Inclusive governance is an approach to governance that ensures all members of society, especially marginalized groups like women, youth, and people with disabilities, are actively involved in decision-making.
It ensures that these groups have access to resources and justice, and their perspectives are considered for effective, fair, and sustainable policies and development.
Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang made her first stop at the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.

The sector minister, George Opare Addo, highlighted some interventions that have been rolled out to among others, reduce youth employment ensure that policies are targeted at all in the social divide.

Prof Opoku Agyemang, said the Mahama led administration believes in growing an economy where there is fair share of thenational cake for all classes.
“We believe that governance should reflect on even with the youngest person in the economy. We shouldn’t only look at only the formal sector, but that boy pushing wheelbarrow at the market, those carrying yams on their arms and everyone. That way, we can meet the needs of everyone”, she charged them.

At the Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs Ministry, the sector minister Ahmed Banda, mentioned that the Ministry has begun processes to ensure effective decentralization at various levels.

The Vice President who lauded the Ministry also advocated for judicious use of resources for the general good.
“I am happy about the work done so far, and I want to encourage you to do more, especially in the area of accountability. The Local Government Ministry is our representation on all fronts, be it religious, traditional authorities, or the ordinary Ghanaian, and we must therefore project our best,” she added.
This phase of her visit was to ministries headed by first time ministers.
