The 2024 New Patriotic Party running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is calling on the members of the party to let peace be the ultimate victor before, during and after the internal presidential election.

Speaking after casting his vote at St Anne’s Anglican Church at Ash Town in Manhyia South Constituency, Dr Opoku Prempeh appealed to the party supporters to bury their differences after the election.

In the lead-up to today’s vote, aspirants and their supporters have vigorously canvassed for support, articulated visions and sought to persuade delegates.

He reiterated that elections should be battles of ideas, not wars of attrition.

“I’m hopeful, the party will come out stronger after the election. The outcome will definitely make the party stronger and united ahead of other internal elections,” Napo said.

He said the process is smooth, orderly, and peaceful.

“I encourage all party delegates to proceed to their respective polling stations to exercise their right to vote, and to do in a calm and responsible manner, strictly observing all the rules that govern this important exercise,” he said.

He was impressed about the police visibility and called on all to respect the security personnel around.

A total of 649 delegates are expected to cast their ballots at the St Anne’s Anglican Church at Ash Town, where the exercise is being conducted under tight security.

Representatives of all five presidential aspirants are present at the venue, closely monitoring the voting process.

The atmosphere at the polling station remains calm, with delegates orderly conducting themselves peacefully as the exercise continues.
