Some residents in parts of Greater Kumasi are struggling to access water following an acute water shortage for some weeks.
For the past two weeks, public water consumers at Asokwa, Amakom, Afful Nkwanta, Atonsu, Dichemso, Kwadaso and many parts of the metropolis have been without water flowing through their taps.
The situation has put burden on residents in accessing water, as some are compelled to rely on underground water dug within the communities.
The Ghana Water Limited in the region attributes the acute water shortage to power fluctuations at some of its treatment plants.
Power supply to the Barekese, Owabi and Achiase booster have, for the past few days not been stable, impacting water production and distribution to the city.
According to Ghana Water, the current voltage levels to the treatment plant and booster stations are low to produce and distribute the potable water to many households.
