Leading Ghana Premier League scorer Samuel Atta Kumi has expressed gratitude to coach Stephen Frimpong Manso for leading Bibiani Goldstars to league triumph last season.

He described the current Nations FC Head Coach as “fantastic”, drooling over his time with the Miners.

“Frimpong Manso was a good and fantastic coach,” Atta Kumi said on Onua All Sports on Monday, February 23.

“During his time at Goldstars, it was superb for all the players, leading us to the league title,” he added.

“I am thankful for this feat with us.”

Atta Kumi says the players are adopting to new system under the current coach, expressing hope that all will go well for him too.

Frimpong Manso was sacked by Goldstars after their first outing in Africa, losing 0-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium to JS Kabylie.

He was later appointed coach of Nations FC while Bibiani Goldstars, after giving Nana Yaw Amankwah an interim role, handed the team to Swiss Fritz Schmid.

The champions are currently second on the log, three points behind Medeama SC, who are on 45 points.

Captain Atta Kumi leads the scorers’ chart with 10 goals so far, starting the comeback in the Matchday 23 win last Sunday over Heart of Lions.
